Do you want to enter the field of regeneration, systems change and work with the world’s leading social innovators? Ashoka Netherlands is currently looking for an Intern Regenerative Communication & Design for the Bioregional Weaving Labs Collective. If you are pro-active, creative, a good writer with (basic) graphic design skills, a team player and eager to learn, this is for you!

 

General information 

Location: Remote work is possible, preferably you reside in The Netherlands.

Time commitment: minimum of 3 days a week 

Remuneration: to be discussed

Start date: ASAP (minimum of 6 months)

About Ashoka Netherlands

Ashoka Netherlands was founded in 2014 and is focused on rolling out innovative international programs and developing the social entrepreneurial landscape by focusing on system change and collective impact. We support our Dutch community of Ashoka Fellows together with Ashoka Network Supporters by organising (online) events, providing access to our global network and offering capacity building programs via the Ashoka One Community in Europe.


About Bioregional Weaving Labs (BWL)

Ashoka Netherlands is co-leading the Bioregional Weaving Labs Collective; a consortium of 25+ system-changing organisations (incl. Commonland and The Weaving Lab) with a joint mission to mobilise 1 million changemakers for the restoration, protection and regeneration of 1 million hectares of land and sea in Europe. With several partners, we form the supporting Backbone team for a growing number of Weaving Teams in Europe, working together towards this goal. For more info see our LinkedIn page and website.


Tasks:

  • Coordinating or providing graphic design work

  • Social media management and content creation

  • Website management and content creation

  • Newsletter management and content creation

  • (Online) event management & communication & logistics

  • PR and content creation

  • Assist with research, survey design, interviews


This is just an idea of the sort of work you will experience - you will have the opportunity to get involved in work that you require/want experience in - but you must be proactive! We are looking for talented all-rounders. 


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualification: - University (Bachelor or higher), university of applied sciences (‘HBO’) or vocational school (‘MBO-4’) preferably in Sustainability / International / Social / Environmental studies with a passion for storytelling. Very motivated candidates with another profile are welcome to apply.

  • Pro-active, creative, a good writer with graphic design skills, a team player, eager to learn 

  • Interest in landscape restoration / nature protection / regeneration, social innovation, systems change and working for an international NGO.

  • Passionate about storytelling and international community building.

  • Fluent English is essential: great copy skills, writing, editing and communication skills, knowledge of proper grammar and spelling.  

  • Affinity with digital tools. High proficiency in communication tools like Zoom, event organisation tools like Eventbrite and social media channels such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram etc.

  • Entrepreneurial appetite essential: learning; lean & agile processes, curiosity and efficiency; a quick learner.


Desirable:

  • Fluency with video/audio editing tools, and/or InDesign is a plus!
